[00:06] Hi, I'm Parker Curtis from Homegrown Cannabis Co., and welcome back to the Homegrown Garden for another cannabis smoke test and strain review.
[00:13] Today we have the super popular, super pungent sativa that's a staple for stoners on the go, Sour Diesel.
[00:53] Sour Diesel is a heavy-yielding sativa that first became popular in the early '90s, and it's a cross of two equally pungent strains, the mysterious hybrid Chem Dog and the indica-dominant Super Skunk.
[01:06] Due to its strong lineage, Sour Diesel offers the best of both indica and sativa worlds, giving it a stable and well-balanced high.
[01:14] It really gives you a happy high that comes with strong energy boosts that really allows you to stay active and creative for many hours. This energizing sativa is the perfect wake-and-bake weed strain, but its indica influences give you some calmness and tones down the strong sativa punch.
[01:29] It's great as a pre-workout smoke, gives you a great head start so you can begin the day as you mean to go on.
[01:40] One of my favorite sativas. It's got that kind of classic fuelly smell that you get with a lot of OGs, but this is a great daytime smoke. It's energizing, it's uplifting, and the aftertaste on the burn of this is excellent.
[02:04] Like most sativa-dominant cultivars, Sour Diesel takes a little bit longer to flower than you might typically expect. It tends to have a flowering time of around 10-11 weeks. It tends to flower a little bit longer. But the yields are exceptional and the quality of the bud is really something special.
[02:20] They flower faster than traditional diesel varieties because of the Super Skunk genetics that's been incorporated. Super Skunk is a faster-flowering strain.
[02:31] It gets very tall, and it needs support to help carry its huge colas. It can be a bit finicky, and it needs support when they get really heavy. You're looking at potentially 550-600 grams per square meter indoors.
[02:55] Very heavy yielder. You're also gonna wanna be careful with your EC and your pH monitoring.
[03:07] You're typically looking at a harvest time of about 10 weeks. Sour Diesel can reach heights of 6 feet or more, so it's better for growers who have got a fair amount of vertical space.
[03:28] It gets lankier than some of the other strains that you may be used to. Definitely a sativa growth pattern.
[03:50] So this is Sour Diesel. It's one of those strains that deserves to be on everybody's bucket list. If you haven't grown it, it is a fantastic grow.
