Ricky’s love affair with cannabis began during his record-breaking senior year at the University of Texas. After a tough breakup, a friend suggested he try weed. From that moment on, cannabis helped Ricky find calm, clarity, and better recovery after grueling practices and games.
Frustrated by daily painkillers, Ricky challenged himself to skip the shots and pills. Instead, he used cannabis to stretch, ease tension, and support his body naturally. His experiment worked so well that he became a vocal advocate for cannabis as a safer alternative in sports medicine.
Despite facing NFL suspensions for marijuana use, Ricky never backed down. He used his platform to fight prohibition and promote personal choice. “There’s still cannabis prohibition in the US,” he says. “This has to change.”
